Mercel is a highly successful and result-oriented management executive, with over a decade’s experience in maritime administration, oil and gas operations, shipping and logistics.

Mercel started his career at E-Paul Energy Services Limited as a graduate trainee and later moved to Standard Superintendent Limited where he worked as a senior petroleum officer. Mercel later joined Sopetra Energy as the coordinator – shipping and logistics and later move to International Maritime and Shipping as manager – business development and operations. He was General Manager, Watergate Petroleum Limited between 2014 and 2015. He has equally consulted for some energy, oil and gas companies such as Lloyds Energy (2011), Crusteam Ltd (2011), Stallionaire Nigeria Ltd (2012) and Bovis Energy (2013-2014).

He holds a first degree in Maritime Transport Management and Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri and Masters in Public and International Affairs (MPIA) from the University of Lagos. He is also a member of Global leadership Institute (GLI) and an affiliate member of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
